There is no natural red coral on the market today due to the
world outlawing of the procurement of any red coral from the
ocean. This is from material found in Utah and mined in 1947.
We were able to obtain a limited amount of material from an old
stock-pile from the original mining of this material. It is
over 300 million years old back when Utah was part of the
ocean. The coral over millions of years fossilized with
impregnated colorless agate. You can easily see the fantastic
red coral formations within the stone. There has been no dying
or treatments and totally natural. Each gem is truly unique as
each has its own formations. There will never be more because
any left in the ground is on government protected land and no
mining will ever be allowed according to the Utah state
geologist. We only have a limited number of cabs, very
valuable, and a remarkable prized gem. Translucent, free
of significant unnatural flaws, with attractive face up and eye
appeal.
